One UI 4.0 (Samsung Android 12) Update, Devices List, and Release Date

One UI 4.0 (or One UI 4.0, OneUI 4) is the upcoming version of Samsung’s in-house Android skin developed for their range of Android smartphones. It was developed by Samsung Electronics and initially released as One UI 1.0 on 7 November 2018. It was developed as a successor to the Samsung Experience and Touchwiz OS. OneUI is available in 100+ languages.

One UI 1 was the initial release of Samsung’s OneUI. It was then followed by more versions like 1.1, 1.5, 2.0, 2.1, 2.5, 3.0, and 3.1. Now, Samsung is launching the next version One UI 4.0 which will be powered with all new Android 12. It will be a major overhaul of the design and a lot of new features will be introduced in the One UI 4.0.

What is One UI 4.0?

One UI 4.0 (or OneUI 4.0) is the upcoming version of Samsung’s One UI, which will be based upon the recently released Android 12. As of now, Android 12 is still in Beta and they will soon release the final stable version after successful testing. Google also started implementing the features of Android 12 in their apps. We recently reported that the Google Contacts app got a major design overhaul and they got Android 12 features support.

One UI 4.0 Leaks – Screenshot and More

One UI 4.0 is not confirmed officially, but there were some alleged screenshots floating around the web. We’ve seen these allegedly leaked screenshots of One UI 4.0 on Twitter, Reddit, and Samsung Community forums. Have a look at the alleged screenshots of One UI 4.0:

However, these screenshots were not legitimate and the source post on Reddit was also deleted by the original poster(OP). It would be great to see How the One UI 4.0 will look like. We have no legit proof or screenshots so far.

Samsung One UI 4.0 Release Date

Google will most probably finish the Android 12 testing by September 2021 and finally release it publicly. Samsung Electronics developed will also unveil the Samsung One UI 4.0 beta update following the release of Android 12. It indicates that Samsung will launch the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta program for developers in the coming weeks. The Galaxy S21 series users will be the first to be invited to the One UI 4.0 beta testing program, which will begin in August/September 2021.

In the upcoming weeks, they will begin testing One UI 4.0 with Android 12 for premium flagships like Galaxy S21 and some other. Probably, Samsung will start the One UI 4.0 beta program in September 2021. However, these details are not officially confirmed.

July 28, 2021: Samsung Community manager posted an announcement banner on the Korean community. It disclosed that Samsung is officially working on the One UI 4.0 with Android 12. The poster was an announcement of Galaxy S21 series being the first device to receive One UI 4.0 Beta with Android 12.

July 29, 2021: Samsung’s OneUI 4.0 will get new animations, and redesigned applications packed with compatibility to Android 12, Ice Universe disclosed on Twitter. He also claimed that a new privacy and graphics module will be introduced with the new One UI 4.0 update.
