YouTube recently introduced a new feature that helps you to create and upload short videos just like TikTok and Instagram Reels. It is currently in beta, as YouTube says it “Shorts BETA“.
Many people liked this feature as there are tons and tons of YouTube Shorts uploaded every day. However, YouTube didn’t care about the people who don’t like this feature.
Don’t worry folks, we are here to save you. In this article, I am gonna share a short and simple guide that will help you to remove shorts from YouTube.
How to Remove Shorts from YouTube?
Following the steps given below, you can remove shorts from YouTube, just follow along.
Step 1. Install YouTube Vanced Manager App
YouTube Vanced is a modified version of YouTube developed by third-party developers which introduced a lot of new features that never existed in the official YouTube app. Some examples are 1080p on mobile, Sponsorblock etc.
Step 2. Install MicroG and YouTube Vanced from Manager App
After installing the YouTube Vanced Manager App, you need to open it and then install MicroG and Vanced App from the Manager app.
Step 3. Launch Vanced and log in with Google Account
After installing the Vanced App you need to log in to your Google account just like we do in the normal YouTube app.
Step 4. Open Settings > Vanced Settings
In Vanced settings, go to Ad settings and Enable the Shorts Shelf toggle option to remove shorts in the YouTube app. It will remove shorts from the YouTube app timeline.
Bonus Tip: To remove the shorts button in the YouTube app, go to Settings > Vanced Settings > Layout Settings and then turn on the comments location toggle. It will disable the Shorts button in the YouTube app.
Now, you successfully removed shorts from the YouTube app. Enjoy YouTube as it was before the introduction of Shorts Beta.
