How to Remove Shorts from YouTube?

YouTube Shorts is emerging as a big alternative to short video apps like TikTok, Reels, and more. YouTube replaced the Trending section button with the Shorts button on their Android app. YouTube recently introduced a new feature that helps you to create and upload short videos just like TikTok and Instagram Reels. It is now out of beta so, you won’t see the Shorts BETA icon.

A lot of people loved this new YouTube Shorts feature. However, there are many who don’t and complained to YouTube for not giving them the option to remove Shorts from YouTube. So, if you go to the app settings, you won’t get an option to remove shorts from YouTube.

But, you don’t need to worry about it. In this tutorial, I will be explaining and showing you How you can remove Shorts from YouTube. It is a very simple and effective method to remove the YouTube shorts button as well as the Shorts carousel from your feed.

How to Remove Shorts from YouTube?

To remove Shorts from the YouTube app, you need to follow the steps mentioned in this tutorial. You’ll be able to remove Shorts from YouTube after the tutorial finishes. So, Let’s begin…

Step 1. Install YouTube Vanced Manager App

First, you need to install the YouTube Vanced Manager App. YouTube Vanced is a modified version of YouTube developed by third-party developers which introduced a lot of new features that never existed in the official YouTube app. Sponsorblock, Adblocking, removing YouTube shorts, and up to 4K video quality support.

Download the Vanced Manager app or Manager.apk here. You can also visit the official website of Vanced Manager.

Step 2. Install MicroG and YouTube Vanced from Manager App

In the previous step, you have successfully installed the YouTube Vanced Manager App. Now, you need to install YouTube Vanced and MicroG from Manager App. YouTube Vanced is the main app that will help you to disable YouTube Shorts. MicroG is the Google Play Services replacement that allows you to log in to your Google Account in YouTube Vanced app.

Step 3. Launch Vanced and log in with Google Account

After installing both the Vanced and MicroG on your Android phone. You need to launch YouTube Vanced and then log in with your Google Account. YouTube Vanced uses MicroG to log in to your Google Account.

Step 4. Open Settings > Vanced Settings

In Vanced settings, go to Ad settings and Enable the Shorts Shelf toggle option to remove shorts in the YouTube app. It will remove shorts from the YouTube app timeline.

Step 5: Enable Comments Location Toggle to Remove YouTube Shorts Button

To remove the shorts button in the YouTube app, go to Settings > Vanced Settings > Layout Settings and then turn on the comments location toggle. It will disable the Shorts button in the YouTube app.
