Chromebook users were asking Google for Google Calendar widgets like Windows calendar widgets. It seems like Google listened to the user feedback. In the latest commit Chromium, the Calendar view is implemented in Chrome OS.

So, it seems Chromebook users will soon receive Google Calendar widgets. ChromeOS will have an option in the quick settings section to quickly launch Google Calendar.
Chrome OS is preparing to offer access to the calendar from the quick settings area, complete with your Google Calendar events. Currently, there’s no simple one-click option to open Google Calendar on Chromebooks.
It is an experimental feature and is available through chrome://flags. You can open the chrome://flags and enable them to test it out.

I am pretty excited about this new Google Calendar widget. It is one of the most demanded features on Chromebooks and Google is finally releasing it. The calendar view feature will be introduced fully in Chrome OS version 103, as per the info from the chrome flag expiration date.
