ColorOS 12 (OPPO Android 12) Update Tracker Release Date and Device List

ColorOS 12 is the upcoming ColorOS update with Android 12. It means a lot of major changes to the design and features are coming. Previously, ColorOS was a terrible OS from OPPO. But, everything is changed now, ColorOS looks elegant and feature-rich.

ColorOS has improved a lot in past years, and users are loving it. ColorOS 12 will be a big update for OPPO users. They will add Android 12 features and design components inspired by Android 12.

ColorOS 12 Release date is confirmed or we can say leaked through Oppo assistant Breeno. Upon asking ColorOS 12 Release Date, the smart assistant Breeno answered it as September 13, 2021.

May 12, 2021: Oppo launched Android 12 Beta 1 for Oppo Find X3 Pro, a flagship smartphone from Oppo. It was one of the first devices that received Android 12 Beta joining Xiaomi and Asus.

June 26, 2021: Digital Chat Station, a reliable leaker revealed that Oppo began Internal testing. Oppo decided to code name this project as “fluorite”. Digital Chat Station post on Weibo.

June 29, 2021: ColorOS 12 screenshots were leaked online and spreading over social media platforms and forums like Twitter and Reddit. We’ve covered and posted the leaked screenshots in an article, have a look.

June 30, 2021: Digital Chat Station revealed in a Weibo post that ColorOS 12 may have some components from HydrogenOS. He also stated that ColorOS 12 is a big change to the UI of Oppo phones. (Read more)

July 24, 2021: OnePlus released Oxygen OS Open Beta 12 for the OnePlus 8 series with ColorOS 12 as the core base of Oxygen OS. We may see major changes in both the skins in the upcoming Android 12 updates for OPPO phones.

August 27, 2021: Oppo smart assistant Breeno leaked ColorOS 12 release date. ColorOS 12 will be released on September 13, 2021.

September 6, 2021: Oppo officially confirmed the ColorOS 12 launch in a post on Weibo. They shared an image of an app with design changes. As we previously discussed that ColorOS 12 will be based on Android 12. So, I am pretty sure the new ColorOS 12 will be launched with significant changes in features and design. In September 2020, Oppo announced ColorOS 11 based on Android 11. ColorOS 12 is reported to be introduced following the official release of Android 12 this month.

September 15, 2021: Oppo opened the registrations for ColorOS 12 Early Access Program. After registration, you’ll be eligible to access the ColorOS 12 Earlier than others. Oppo announced the Early Acces Program from their official account on a Chinese microblogging platform named Weibo.

September 16, 2021: Oppo’s ColorOS 12 will launch globally in October with Apple Animoji like OMOJI. It will work similarly to Apple’s Animoji. It will use Oppo’s Face movement detection technology.

ColorOS is an Android-based mobile operating system created by OPPO Electronics(OPPO Mobiles). Realme phones were the first to get ColorOS but later on, switched to Realme UI in 2020.

ColorOS first built upon Android Jellybean in 2013, around 7 years ago. Currently, people are using ColorOS 11 and about to get ColorOS 12 based on Android 12.
